Tucked away on 30 acres of scenic farmland in Fairfax, Virginia, Hilltop Farm offers the beauty of a Virginia countryside wedding while still being incredibly convenient for guests traveling from Northern Virginia, DC, or out of town. It’s the perfect balance of modern elegance and wide-open views without feeling overly rustic.
Although I’ve only had the opportunity to plan one wedding here so far, it quickly became one of those venues I’d love to return to again and again.

Established in 2018, Hilltop Farm combines sweeping countryside views with a bright, contemporary event space.
One of my favorite things about this Northern Virginia wedding venue is that it feels secluded without sacrificing convenience. There are plenty of nearby hotels, Dulles Airport is just a short drive away, and guests have easy access to the greater NOVA and DC area.
For couples planning a wedding with guests traveling in from multiple locations, that accessibility makes a huge difference.
Hilltop Farm offers three different ceremony locations, giving couples plenty of flexibility when planning their day.
You can choose between the Fountain Courtyard, the Pond, and the Cross.
Each space has its own feel, allowing couples to choose the backdrop that best fits their vision while still taking advantage of the property’s beautiful landscape.
And if you’re dreaming of golden-hour portraits, this venue sits on a rise with unobstructed sunset views that are absolutely incredible.
The Overlook, Hilltop Farm’s primary reception space, is one of my favorite parts of the venue.
Large glass windows fill the room with natural light, while the clean lines and neutral aesthetic create a space that feels elevated and polished.
Because the design is intentionally minimal, couples have so much flexibility to personalize it. Whether your style leans classic, colorful, modern, or romantic, the space serves as a beautiful backdrop rather than competing with your design.
One feature I especially loved during the wedding I planned here was the oversized garage-style doors.
We kept them closed during dinner to keep the air conditioning inside while guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside. Later in the evening, once the sun went down and the dancing started, we opened them up to create an incredible indoor-outdoor experience. It’s such a simple feature, but it completely changes how the space feels throughout the night.
As a planner, I always appreciate venues that think beyond the aesthetics.
Hilltop Farm includes tables, chairs, and cocktail tables in the rental, making planning a little more straightforward. The layout is also incredibly vendor-friendly, which helps load-in and setup run smoothly.
Transportation is easy as well. There’s a large parking lot with additional overflow parking available on the property, complete with a parking attendant. While there isn’t an on-site shuttle service, buses can easily loop through the property, and the venue manager is very hands-on with directing drivers and coordinating arrivals and departures.
The golf cart is another favorite feature of mine. It’s perfect for transporting the couple around the property, especially when it’s time to sneak away for sunset portraits.
Hilltop Farm also has some wonderful spaces that make the wedding day more enjoyable for everyone.
The bridal suite is spacious and comfortable, while the brand-new speakeasy for the groom and groomsmen might be one of the coolest getting-ready spaces I’ve seen. It has a TV, pool table, and the most comfortable couches. Throughout the wedding day, the vendors kept joking that we’d all end up in there taking naps once the dancing started.
There’s also the original milking barn lounge, along with newly constructed outdoor restrooms near the garage patio, which are a great upgrade for guests.
