Cassie & Sam’s outdoor winery wedding at the Eastwood Farm & Winery was gorgeous and such a wonderful day. Beautiful views, lots of personal touches, and only one minor veil issue added up to a pretty perfect summer wedding!
Cassie & Sam’s love story started at Virginia Tech and has brought them to their current home in Norfolk. With Sam in the military and Cassie planning a wedding in a different town, she needed someone to bounce ideas off of and make sure she stayed on track. We bonded quickly over the fact that I am also a Virginia Tech alumna, I’m from Norfolk, and she and I are both Swifties!
If you are planning an outdoor winery wedding in the area, you can’t go wrong here! My favorite part of this winery is the fact that it stretches up into the mountains with a breathtaking overlook point. This point is a great spot to hold a ceremony, overlooking all of the farm against a backdrop of ever-blooming wildflowers and clear Blue Ridge Mountains. They had their reception down in the tasting barn with cocktail hour on the covered veranda. This was perfect for a June summer day. Guests could lounge in the covered seating area or make their way out to the lawn for games and cocktails. Speaking of cocktails – the venue does a great wine slushie!
was making sure that Cassie’s veil stayed in. As she was walking to Sam for the first look, it fell off for the first time. It kept coming out even after one step! I added about 8 more bobby pins to make sure it was in there good and tight, and she successfully made it down the aisle, veil intact.
The mother/daughter bond Cassie and her mom, Chris, have and showcased throughout the day was admirable. Chris walked Cassie down the aisle, and they shared a mother/daughter dance to The Best Day (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift. Ladies after my own heart!
I always love the different ways couples insert personal touches into their big day. Cassie & Sam have a love of trying out new coffee shops together and wanted to incorporate that into their wedding. They decided to do a coffee favor for the guests and it was a huge hit! They also had the cutest cat stir sticks for a small nod to their furry feline. All of that combined with Sam’s Aunt Beverly conducting the ceremony made sure their fingerprint was on every part of their wedding day.
This outdoor winery wedding was definitely one for the books! If you’re in need of wedding planning help, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to help you plan and execute a perfect day of your own!
