The floral garden wedding style is getting more and more popular, and Anna & Tom dove right in! Their vision was something colorful and fun, gardenesque and whimsical. Bringing this vision to life for them was an honor.
We have had many weddings at Airlie in Warrenton, VA, and it’s the perfect wedding venue for what Anna & Tom were looking for. Airlie has great grounds for a wedding, with many options for an outdoor ceremony. The gardens were the perfect touch for this garden wedding’s vibe. It’s European style and hotel with cottages is an added bonus. Gotta love a venue with accommodations for all guests!
Airlie’s many options worked in our favor on the big day. It had rained the day before, and the grass for our cocktail hour was a little soggy. We moved that portion of the event to the deck surrounding the pavilion. This last minute switch worked out great for their guests.
It was a great mix of colorful, on-theme, and, my favorite, personal. They love to travel and go on adventures, so their cake topper was made to look like a National Park sign. Along the same lines, guests found their seats with National Park postcard escort cards. Their welcome sign and table numbers showcased beautiful pressed flowers and the place cards at each table were butterflies that hung off the champagne flute. We also designed each table to be a different color with a floral garden plate. It was all very whimsical!
My team and I are always ready and willing to do anything we can to help the day run smoothly, and Anna & Tom’s garden wedding had me adding a couple new tasks to my repertoire. Our lovely officiant Katherine had a surprise gift for our couple. So at the end of the service, right before the recessional, she gave me the cue to bring it up and present it to them. It was my first time assisting with the actual ceremony and was fun to help with that! Also, although it’s not on my official resume (yet), I do like to help out with the fur babies when possible. Once A&T’s corgi Banana’s duties were over and dinner kicked off, I got to take my little dude on a walk back to his cottage. He was very well behaved and never sensed I am a cat lady.
Whether you’re looking to plan a garden wedding of your own, or you are on the hunt for a wedding planner who is happy to take on some fur baby duties, All The Dainty Details is ready to deliver a seamless wedding planning experience!
