There was so much to love about Katy & Justin’s fall wedding in Virginia. The beautiful Charlottesville wedding venue, the wedding florals by the mother of the bride, and stunning late October weather… What more could you ask for?
Katy found me through her mom, Christa. Christa owns Cedarmere Farm and is a wedding florist. We did a wedding together a couple years ago and she immediately thought of me when the time came for her daughter to be married, which is such a huge compliment. She is so talented and did a wonderful job with the flowers for both the wedding and the rehearsal dinner.
Not only did we handle the planning for Katy & Justin’s fall wedding, we assisted planning and design for their rehearsal dinner.
It was fun to be able to play on two different designs between the two events. The rehearsal dinner had darker, moodier fall colors and the wedding day was full of lighter, more vibrant colors. I loved the ladies in the bridal party in the different shades of pink and patterns – so fun!
Both the Clifton and the Old Metropolitan Hotel are Charlottesville wedding venues we’ve included on favorites lists in the past. We love having events at these venues! These great spots worked so well for what Katy & Justin were looking for with their fall wedding in Virginia.
The ceremony was gorgeous and the dinner was delicious.
Even though it got a little chilly as the sun went down, the band kept the dance floor heated! Katy & Justin used the same band as Katy’s sister’s wedding, which was just one of the ways they made the day unique to them. Their officiant was a dear friend of theirs, and their 9-year-old beagle named Ollie was such a sweet boy and played a role in their big day, as well.
After the cake was cut (with a family knife that plays the Happy Birthday Song) and the band played their last song and the night was coming to an end, the couple and friends gathered at the Collina Farmhouse which is part of the property down the road for late night shenanigans and pizza! The perfect way to end a perfect day!
