Ansley and Matt’s Virginia fall wedding was filled with meaningful moments, incredible views, and the sweetest nods to their love story. From their movie-worthy first date to a wedding day that mirrored her parent’s special day 31 years earlier, everything about their celebration at The Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, VA was straight out of a storybook.
As a lot of love stories during COVID times go, they started chatting over Instagram. Ansley messaged Matt after they’d crossed paths before but had never really connected. This time, they hit it off! Their first date may have been Domino’s pizza on the Naval Academy campus with fishing poles where they caught no fish, but that’s okay. Matt says Ansley “is certainly my number one catch!” So cute!
Ansley’s family had a deep history with the venue: it’s where her parents got married and a place filled with memories from countless family vacations. Choosing it for their wedding day was a natural and sentimental decision.
The Omni Homestead is one of the most gorgeous wedding venues in Virginia. With its historic charm, breathtaking mountain views, and endless amenities for guests, it’s the perfect place for a full wedding weekend experience. The bridal party got ready in the spacious tower suite, where they enjoyed breakfast goodies.
One of the most heartwarming parts of the day was the horse and carriage ride. Ansley and Matt rode off from Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church in a horse-drawn carriage after saying “I do.” This special moment was just like Ansley’s parent’s did’s carriage ride three decades ago. Even though the original Homestead carriage was no longer in commission, we recreated the moment thanks to Lexington Carriage. It was such a touching tribute and a true full-circle moment.
Each table was named after one of their pets, with woodland animal place card holders featuring owls, deer, rabbits, and foxes. The beautiful pink Juliska Country Estate napkins showcased countryside creatures, and every detail was thoughtfully layered with meaning. Napkin rings made from real horse bits (sourced by the mother of the bride, Hilary) added another personal touch. Their custom wedding crest, featuring all their fur babies, adorned the sweetheart table, cake table, and menus. And maybe the cutest detail of all? A raccoon bride and groom cake topper complete with a veil and top hat!
The evening flowed seamlessly. Guests were treated to phenomenal food, lively dancing, and cozy autumn touches like a hot cider and donut station. The ice cream bar at the end of the night was the perfect sweet ending to such a joyful day.
