If you’re dreaming of a celebration filled with mountain views and deeply personal moments, Kelly & Spencer’s Keswick Vineyards wedding in Charlottesville is the perfect inspiration. As a Charlottesville wedding planner, this day was especially meaningful. Not only because of the stunning venue, but because these two are now my neighbors! They moved into their home less than a mile from mine just weeks before the wedding, which made this celebration feel even more full circle.
Kelly and Spencer first met at UVA, but their love story didn’t officially take off until years later in Austin, Texas. Life brought them back to Virginia, and choosing a Keswick Vineyards wedding in Charlottesville felt like honoring both their history and their future together.
The views alone are enough to take your breath away, with the Blue Ridge Mountains and the vineyards as your backdrop. Couples have multiple ceremony spots to choose from, but Kelly & Spencer chose a spot in front of the fountain, which allowed guests to take in both the mountains and the vines as they said “I do.”
The grounds feature a historic mansion providing a classic and regal setting for photos and it’s a pet-friendly venue, so your furry friends can be part of your special day! Including Sammi, K&S’s flower dog.
Kenwick’s Aurora tent is designed to act as a “blank canvas,” so couples can decorate it to fit their vision, which we love.
They didn’t want to get bogged down in unnecessary details that will not fully contribute to the value of their wedding. They just wanted their guests to remember the love they felt and the fun they had. That energy was definitely super evident throughout the entire day and night
One of the standout moments was their first dance. Kelly’s best friend, Sara, sang an original song she wrote just for them. Spencer thought she’d be singing something else, so this special moment was a surprise for him. Kelly printed the lyrics and placed them on every guest’s seat so they could fully take in the moment.
The rest of the reception was so much fun, with custom trucker hats, the Cavman (UVA’s mascot) special appearance at the beginning of the dance floor (Spencer was the Cavman in college!), and late night snacks from Raising Cane’s.
The whole night was the ideal mix of personal, playful, and sentimental!
