Every year comes with its own wedding trends, and 2024 is no different. It’s always exciting to see not only what is popular, but how each couple will make the trends their own! Since we are fortunate enough to be a part of a lot of different weddings, we get to see a wide variety of trends and interpretations of them. Let’s dive into the 2024 wedding trends we’re most excited to see!
We couldn’t talk about 2024 wedding trends without mentioning bows. Bows have started to make a comeback through bridal fashion as well as the smaller details of aisle markers and invitations. The bow chic fashion you may have seen outside of weddings is making a real impact on bridal gowns. It adds drama and elegance that elevates the overall bridal look. They really create a striking focal point!
But bows aren’t just for the dresses. A simple bow can be a cost effective decor idea. They can be incorporated into table designs and decorations, bringing in some extra style. Bows go beautifully on cakes, as well!
Traditionally, wedding parties stand during the ceremony, but we are seeing more couples opting for their party to sit. Giving them a seat means they’re comfortable and you and your soon to be spouse have the full spotlight for your vow exchange allowing for a more intimate connection. Having your wedding party sit with the guests creates a sense of togetherness with less of a separation between those selected for the wedding party and not.
Just remember to count and reserve the seats and rows for them and your other VIPs!
Couples are looking for ways to infuse creativity and personalization into their wedding day and interactive, immersive entertainment is the perfect way to do it. Entertainment plays a crucial role in creating a memorable and enjoyable wedding experience. Doing this in unexpected ways will surprise and delight your guests!
This type of entertainment can range from 360° photo booths, audio guestbooks, bounce houses, and live illustrators, to drinks and food that include interactive elements such as food stations, interactive chef experiences, and mixology bars. These amplified options will provide endless entertainment and create unforgettable moments for all!
It’s become more and more apparent that couples have become less focused on themselves as the center of attention. They want their guests to have a special experience that extends past the wedding day, so they are extending their celebrations into multiple day events. Not only is this a selfless and generous thing to do, it creates more opportunity to spend quality time with those you love.
There’s no hard and fast rule to follow when it comes to the number of wedding looks you can showcase. We’ve already been seeing these kinds of outfit changes in the past, but it will definitely be rolling into 2024 weddings. Whether you want multiple looks because you want different vibes throughout the day, you want to highlight your personality and style, you’re having a multicultural event that has different attire, or even for functionality reasons like your ball gown is too hard to dance in, we say go for it with as many looks as you want!
Opting for an additional look does involve a bit more planning, so be sure to work with your wedding planner to determine the best time to change.
Guests are being asked to consider a dress code, beyond the normal attire guidelines, such as a specific color palette or theme, like “garden chic” or “festive attire.” This is a great opportunity to use your creativity. Involving your guests in your overall wedding design and aesthetic not only makes them feel more included in your day, but it looks amazing in photos! Tell your guests to go all out!
Themed attire has also started to become more popular. If this trend speaks to you, embrace it kindly. Be sure to give your party-goers some guidance on what to wear or share your vision with wedding VIPs to spread the word.
A 2024 wedding trends honorable mention has to be wedding content creators. Entering the conversation in 2023, these additional creative vendors are in addition to a photographer and videographer. They are there exclusively to capture your wedding for socials – all about getting that perfect image or video for the ‘gram or TikTok. They’ll show up and shoot BTS and create social media worthy content to post in real-time and after. This allows you to be present on your wedding day while still having things to share before you get your full wedding galleries back from your photographer.
One thing is always clear as we look at 2024 wedding trends or trends for any year: embrace them, but remember the most important thing is to create a day that is authentic and meaningful to you. Infuse elements that reflect your love story, passions, personalities – it’s a celebration of you as a couple.
