Even though I attend many, many weddings, it’s been awhile since I’ve been a wedding guest myself. My brother is getting married this December, and I’ve had to start looking for my own winter wedding guest outfit, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds and tips for anyone out there looking for their own winter wedding guest outfit!
If you’re looking for a formal winter wedding guest dress, Jenny Yoo has you covered. Jenny Yoo reigns supreme for cold weather gowns. Black is timeless and chic and a velvet fabric is always a great winter choice. Not only does it look luxurious, but it also provides you ample warmth.
Long sleeves are a great winter option, but it’s not the only option – I love these flutter sleeves! And the open back also exudes sophistication.
Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you have to give up florals. This dress is a great example of dark and moody florals that work great for the cooler season. The deep V neckline and long sleeves with smocked cuffs is gorgeous, and the tulle flows beautifully!
This deep shade of blue is a MUST for the winter season. It’s romantic, it’s flattering, and it’s perfect for a formal winter wedding. It was absolutely made for dancing, and I’m dying over the tie straps! I haven’t decided what dress to pick for my brother’s wedding, but someone definitely needs to buy this dress!
Winter is a great time to place with metallics, sequins, and sparkles. This shimmering mini dress is so much fun – LOVE a bit of shimmer during the holiday season. Whether you’re attending a vintage themed wedding, a NYE bash, or a black tie affair, this dress screams party time! The higher neckline balances out the bare legs of a shorter dress for the season.
I’m a sucker for emerald green – it’s the color that steals the show this winter and every winter to come. A bold color with a classic and clean look is always a great choice, and gives you the opportunity to dress it up with jewelry or a beaded clutch.
When in doubt, I suggest sticking to classic winter silhouettes, cozy textures, and seasonal colors, with a few modern trends thrown in. Also, keep the weather in mind! Outerwear is a MUST for the season, so you might as well make it cute. Think shawls, faux fur, and opaque tights so you’ll look incredible and feel incredible, too. The length of a winter wedding guest dress can help with warmth, but the final choice is really up to you.
