4. Old Metropolitan Hall
The Old Metropolitan Hall is located off the outdoor pedestrian mall in downtown Charlottesville. This venue is ideal for those looking for a historic and charming venue with urban vibes. The restored details like original antique tin tiles on the ceiling, whitewashed walls, and glass chandeliers have preserved the beauty from when it was first built. My favorite part has to be downstairs. The cellar has a classic style like no other with black and white tiled floors and their little hidden secret, the “speakeasy.”
5. James Monroe’s Highland
This venue is perfect for the couple that highly values history and rustic charm. Once the estate of President James Monroe and first lady Elizabeth Monroe, this venue can host up to 200 guests. There are unique locations for both the wedding ceremony and reception, all of which are very picturesque. In fact, the whole estate is picturesque, with plenty of photo opportunities between the boxwood gardens, driveway, and private gardens.
6. Montfair Resort Farm
If you’re looking for the serenity of nature on your wedding day, this venue is for you. With rustic charm, fresh mountain air, and scenic views, this unique and versatile venue is on 129 acres of woodland. There are several ceremony locations to choose from, including mountain, fields, or lake views, allowing you to curate your dream outdoor wedding.
