Grace and Adrian’s farm wedding was a beautiful, colorful event held on Grace’s family farm in Wythveville, VA. From the rich history to the gorgeous wildflowers, not even the summer heat could put a damper on this special day!
Everyone’s wedding planning journey is unique, and Grace and Adrian’s is no exception. About 4 months before their wedding, Grace was nervous about where they were at with planning their farm wedding. One of Grace’s good friends is a past bride of mine, and she recommended that Grace reach out to me. I’m so glad she did! Planning an at home wedding can seem like it’d be easier than the alternative. Unfortunately, since you’re having to build a venue from the ground up, it can be stressful!
It’s a huge property with great views and plenty of space for the 3 tents we had set up for the event. I loved the family home and the fact that Grace’s getting ready photos with the moms and family were in such a special place to them. Also, right at nightfall the entire field was filled with what felt like millions of fireflies. It looked so cool!
June 29th was hot, hot, hot! It was important to make sure we did everything we could to make guests comfortable in the heat. There were large umbrellas throughout, rattan fans on each chair at the ceremony, and water stations. They also had vintage farm bathtubs filled with cold beverages – that was my favorite!
Even with the threat of thunderstorms and hail all week, there was a special reason behind choosing this peak summer day. June 19 is Adrian’s birthday! He doesn’t like his birthday, so he wanted another reason to celebrate June 29. Plus, he’ll never forget his anniversary!
The florals were wild and no two centerpieces looked alike. Color was absolutely everywhere in the flowers, Adrian’s suit, the green water glasses, the bathtubs, and the custom rose napkins made by the mother of the bride. Adrian also designed the invitation suite and paper goods. Everything was so unique and intentional and you could see it and feel it throughout their day.
Grace and Adrian – Although it was such a short amount of time to work together, I feel like we clicked instantly. You are such a fun loving couple and I could tell how much thought and detail you put into this wedding to provide your guests with the best farm experience. You are super caring and the day was filled with so much joy and love. I was incredibly happy to be part of it.
Whether you’re planning a wedding at a traditional venue or an at home farm wedding like Grace and Adrian, it’s never too late to get some guidance from a professional. Let us help ease your worries and bring your big day dreams to life!
