Nestled in the heart of Keswick, this cidery and elegant barn is just about 30 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. It’s a dream setting if you want a celebration that feels both elevated and grounded in Virginia’s gorgeous landscape.
I’ve planned two weddings at this outdoor Virginia wedding venue so far, and every time I return, I fall in love with something new.
Castle Hill Cider offers so much more than meets the eye. With panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, ancient trees, apple orchards, and a sparkling lake, it’s nearly impossible to take a bad photo on this property. It’s truly a photographer’s paradise, and a couple’s too!
Most ceremonies take place on the lawn in the Linden Grove, a space that stays beautiful year round. It’s one of those spots that doesn’t need much dressing up because the views do the heavy lifting. But if weather rolls in, couples don’t have to worry. The indoor loft above the barn makes for a stunning backup option, with doors that open to give you that same breathtaking backdrop.

You can comfortably host up to 350 guests with lots of room for seating and dancing. The barn has gorgeous wood beams which are perfect for florals or draping. This makes event design options endless, which is always a dream! The floor-to-ceiling glass wall along the back leads to an outdoor terrace that lets guests flow easily between indoor and outdoor spaces. The built in stage makes this venue great whether you’re bringing in a full band or a DJ to dance the night away!
While there isn’t onsite lodging, Castle Hill Cider recently renovated their bridal and groom suites and they are stunning. The bridal suite has two levels with a balcony, giving the entire wedding party plenty of room to get ready. The groom’s suite is equally as spacious and inviting, complete with places to lounge, a TV, and a pool table.
Castle Hill Cider offers plenty of parking and buses are able to drop off right at the front steps. Tables and chairs are included, and their delicious cider (made from the 4,500 apple trees on property!) is a unique touch to incorporate into your wedding celebration.
