Raise your hand if you have heard of the term ‘Day Of Coordinator’. C’mon, you know what that is right? That mythical person that appears on your wedding day, that is somehow able to understand all the ins-and-outs of your unique wedding. The person that will magically know the complexity of the vendor logistics, important details like how the venue functions, and intricacies of literally everything you have been planning for most likely a year (or more!). Well guess what? They do not exist! That person, the so called ‘Day Of Coordinator’, will not be able to execute your plan in the way you think they should, unless they are involved much, much earlier on in the planning process.
Trust us, we have received our fair share of inquiries from potential couples looking for “someone to just be there on the day only” or “help setting up our DIY and decor items”. While we definitely include this service of putting out and packing up your personal items on your wedding day, this is not all that we do. So we are educating couples on what they should really require from that person and it’s so much more!
They deserve a more thorough process with their planner. Or really we should say team, because not one single person should do this solo. Believe me (Mallory), I did for a couple years and ask myself WHY constantly. Throughout the years, we have seen it all. We know what works and what doesn’t. Who among your vendors is good and who is phenomenal. Yet we also respect the fact that there are plenty of couples who are capable AND want to plan a wedding on their own. But why do it all completely on your own? Couples should have a seasoned professional on their side from the very beginning of the planning process. As a Dainty Detail couple, you get access to our online planning platform called Aisle Planner, which is an amazing tool with checklists, budget management, guest list manager, venue layout and seating chart. This will host your wedding timeline and all your vendor contracts as well, that your planners may reference at any time. Weddings are not all about the checklists for us though. We LOVE weddings and seeing you marry your person. Let us help! If you think about it too, we will spend A LOT of time together on your wedding day. Having us on board from the get go helps develop an actual relationship, built on trust, with that person (*cough* team) that is actually managing the biggest day of your life.
We are meeting for the final walk through, discussing all the logistics and fine tuning All The Dainty Details of your timeline. We review, and review, and review again – making sure everything is planned across your entire vendor team. Then comes the rehearsal day. Honestly, we’ve heard many times about not needing us for this step, but the rehearsal is crucial. Imagine your wedding party… now imagine your parents… now imagine the EXCITEMENT!! Letting us lead the rehearsal takes the pressure off you and allow us to catch anything we may not have thought of. Plus, answer any of those last minute questions, like where to go, at what time, and what it is that you exactly need to do. Having us at the rehearsal will definitely come in handy, especially when those big day jitters (and maybe a few mimosas) hit you the next day!
As you can see, there is a lot more to it than just hiring us to show up on your wedding day and we will continue to educate couples on everything we do as planners leading up to your day and not just on the wedding day alone.
